INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Overview
CASIE provides opportunities for undergraduate education majors to receive on the job exposure to behind the scenes activities of an education organization and staff at Atlanta International School, while receiving valuable training in the International Baccalaureate.
General Guidelines
The internship includes a paid stipend and can last two or three months in the summer or spring. During the internship period, the student will be required to be at the CASIE office or events in Atlanta, Georgia, a minimum of 20 hours per week. Duties include but are not limited to internet research, assisting with projects and meetings, facilitating correspondence and workshop coordination. The internship includes a three-day International Baccalaureate Level One training course, provided by CASIE, in the intern's selected subject.
- Student must be enrolled in an accredited university program as an education major.
- Student must be entering or just finishing junior status as determined by his/her university.
- Student may receive credit for internship as part of an existing university program.
- Student must illustrate clear interest in teaching in an urban public school, preferably in a district with a high minority or non-native English speaking population.
- Student must be a U.S. citizen or be able to work under an existing Visa.
The Application Process
All applications must be submitted to CASIE by March 15 for summer internships and October 15 for winter/spring internships. Applications are reviewed and final selections decided by CASIE staff members. Applications are judged on the quality and significance of the application. Applicants will be notified by April 15 for summer placement and November 15 for winter/fall.

Terms and Conditions
Stipends are paid monthly and vary based on length of internship, but average $1,000 per month.
