Primary Staff

Alex Horsley, Executive Director
Alex Horsley, with advanced degrees in Education (London and Hull Universities) and Languages (Oxford University), has served as a teacher in New Zealand, India, England and the USA. He was the founding headmaster of Atlanta International School, with subsequent terms as headmaster of international schools in Beijing and Hong Kong. He has wide experience in the field of international school accreditation, having served as Chair of the Accrediting Team to schools in Australia, Indonesia, France, Belgium, Portugal and Venezuela. He currently serves on the Accreditation Advisory Committee of the Council of International Schools.

Monique Seefried, Research Director
Monique Seefried was born in Carthage, Tunisia, and grew up in Vienna and Rome. She attended French schools abroad, and studied at the Sorbonne in Paris from where she holds a Master's and a PhD in History. She has been working in education for thirty years, as well as in the Museum world. She is fluent in English, French, German and Italian. Her three children have gone through the International Baccalaureate program. She serves on many boards and board committees which include Atlanta International School and the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Nancy Tuomi, Director of IB Workshops
Nancy Tuomi has worked with IB programs for 15 years, most recently as ccordinator of all IB programs for DeKalb County, Georgia. She is certified by IBNA as a Consultant and Team School Site Visitor. She is President of IB Coordinators of Georgia and has represented the region at numerous IBNA and IBO gatherings. She has directed the CASIE IB workshop program for 4 years. In addition to her work in IB programs in the USA, she worked for two years in England as a Teacher on Special Assignment to set up teacher exchange programs.

Lynne McClendon, CrossWorlds Director
Lynne McClendon currently serves as the Executive Director for the Southern Conference on Language Teaching as well as an In-Tech teacher. She has traveled extensively in Italy, Great Britain, North Africa, with excursions into Spain and Portugal. She has also studied at the American School in Athens, Greece. From 1987 to 1997 she served as the Foreign Language and ESOL coordinator for the Fulton County, GA school system. She has previously served as the chairperson for the Georgia Junior Classical League and as President of of the Foreign Language Association of Georgia.

Bobbi Kay, Communications and Marketing Director
Bobbi Kay received her Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University and later obtained a Masters in Communication Management from the University of Southern California. Bobbi Kay joined CASIE after working for five years at Showtime Networks in sales and marketing.

Additional Staff

Rasamy Yin Vanijcharoenkarn, Finance/Accounting
Rasamy holds a bachelor of science degree from Georgia State University. She works many years as a system engineer in research and development and has experience with immigration for international students. She is fluent in Chinese, English and has a good understanding of Thai and Lao. Her two children have gone thru the International Baccalaureate Program.

Sharon Belton
Sharon Belton is a native of Atlanta, Georgia with three teenage children enrolled in the IB program. She assists a kindergarten class in mornings and typing away for CASIE in the afternoons. She has lived in Nevada and eastern Japan and traveled some in Canada, Australia, Brussels, France and Ecuador, giving her a few chances to use a little Japanese and French.
