Getting to Pamplona
Pamplona has a small airport which receives a limited number of flights directly from Madrid (Iberia), Barcelona (seasonal on Vueling) and Frankfurt, Germany (Lufthansa). Alternatively, you might fly into Barcelona, Madrid, or Bilbao with any major airline and take ground transportation from those cities into Pamplona. From Barcelona or Madrid, you can easily take a Renfe train into Pamplona. There are no trains between Bilbao and Pamplona, so it would be necessary to rent a car to reach Pamplona or hire a taxi for a considerable sum of money.
Moving Around Pamplona
Once you arrive in Pamplona, it is very easy to get around the city by foot or bus. Pamplona is a small, intimate city which makes walking an easy form of transportation. Pamplona also has a very reliable bus system. The University can be accessed on Bus Line #1 or Bus Line #5. Please make sure you bus to the Universidad de Navarra and not to the Universidad de Pamplona, the public university campus, which is adjacent.
Staying in Pamplona
Please note that there is no hotel partner for this Project Zero Perspectives conference. That said, the below hotels are great nearby options we have visited and been impressed with!
Closest to the University, this hotel is on a main city artery, has many nearby dining options. About a 10 minute walk to the conference.
This hotel is in a quiet, residential neighborhood near the University. Not many immediate dining options but the in-house restaurant is excellent. About a 15 minute walk to the conference.
Modern budget option overlooks Yamaguchi Park and is set into a residential neighborhood with food options nearby. Fifteen to 20 minute walk to the conference.
Hotel Tres Reyes
Overlooks the lovely Taconera gardens and is sited midway between the conference site and the Casco Viejo, Pamplona's old historic district. From this hotel you could plan for a slightly longer walk to the conference or simply grab a bus or taxi to the university!
Special rate, must mention the CASIE/Project Zero Conference at time of booking: Executive Room (single-use) breakfast and VAT included, 89,00 €
Because of the world-famous Running of the Bulls, Pamplona has a large number of hotels for a city of its size. The lively Casco Viejo is full of hotels at all price points and comfort levels, putting you in the middle of dining, nightlife, history, and shopping. Again, because the city is so compact and walker-friendly, we would recommend you base your hotel choice on what kind of atmosphere you prefer -- lively nightlife vs. scenic gardens vs. residential neighborhoods.
