Travel Recommendations

Conveniently located only 30 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, the stunning seaside suburb of Brighton is one of Victoria’s most popular bayside destinations. A vibrant suburb with outstanding restaurants and retail, Brighton is complemented by historic sites, along with scenic views and environments. Home to one of Australia’s iconic beaches, Brighton’s 90 strikingly colorful bayside bathing boxes have inspired countless local and international artists and photographers.

Equally inspiring is our conference host, St Leonard’s College. One of the nation’s leading independent schools; St Leonard’s College is set amongst picturesque grounds and will boast a new world-class performing arts centre, and pioneering purpose-built senior school building. Opening in 2020, these innovative new learning spaces, designed by award-winning architects, will inspire all attendees with a new benchmark in the education sector.

Transportation

Flying into Tullamarine Melbourne Airport (MEL) is convenient and easy. If staying either in cosmopolitan Melbourne or charming seaside Brighton, both are easily accessible via a cab ride from Melbourne Airport (around $80 AUD) or via shuttle buses.

Public transportation in Melbourne is extremely convenient and very affordable. Visit PTV for details on Victoria's extensive train, tram, and bus network. We recommend purchasing and loading a Myki card for travelling throughout Melbourne and accessing Brighton via public transport.

Lodging in Melbourne

If you would rather stay in the city and commute out to Brighton, that is also a viable option. Melbourne has a huge variety of properties at all price points and in various locations throughout the city. We would recommend staying towards the southern end of town for a faster commute out to Brighton: St. Kilda, South Yarra, Albert Park, South Melbourne, the CBD.

We highly recommend the Art Series Hotels, as well as The Royce Hotel and Brady Hotels.
